Lindenhurst Chiropractor Connects with Patients Using Facebook

Posted on 2012-02-22 15:12:52

Lindenhurst chiropractor connects with patients on Facebook.jpgIn today's fast-moving culture, staying connected with health care providers is more important than ever. At our office, Lindenhurst chiropractor Dr. Mark Freund is committed to keeping in contact with patients in the most convenient ways possible - including the usage of social media and Facebook. Dr. Freund believes that health care providers should be friendly and approachable, and Facebook offers a neutral medium for clients and the general community to ask questions and learn more about natural ways of preventing and treating musculoskeletal aches and pains.

Because our office is focused on total body well care, by becoming a part of our Facebook page, you can gain helpful tips for living a healthful life. We often post helpful facts, articles, videos and blog posts about the most efficient ways of burning calories, eating a nutritious diet and supplementing with vitamins and minerals that help boost the immune system and build strong, healthy bones.

Learning About Chiropractic Care Through Facebook

Our Facebook page makes it easy to understand how chiropractic care can benefit you. For example, our chiropractor can provide in-office and at-home pain management techniques that can help improve back pain, neck pain and other uncomfortable systems that may be the result of a personal injury, musculoskeletal disease or a spinal subluxation. Our in-office techniques include manual adjustments of the spine and neck, as well as other natural therapies designed to supplement the care of a chiropractor.

For example, many of our patients find that acupuncture is an effective and relatively painless form of pain management that requires no surgery or medication. Similarly, we commonly recommend massage therapy as a way to relax the muscles, reduce tension and release built-up toxins that can cause neck and back pain. In fact, many of our patients who begin to use massage therapy begin to notice a reduction in other symptoms related to the muscles and nerves in the spine, such as chronic headaches or migraines.

By having another way to interact with patients, old and new, we are able to further educate people about chiropractic and wellness care and the benefits they can receive through different techniques and therapies.

pain management for chronic neck pain.jpgAre you struggling with chronic pain as a result of a fall, auto accident or mishap at work? Although there are many causes of neck, back and shoulder pain, living with chronic pain affects every aspect of your life. We understand this and offer a total wellness approach to pain management that is effective without expensive and invasive surgery or potentially hazardous prescription drugs.

Pain in the neck and shoulders can be caused by a variety of injuries, accidents and circumstances. Workplace injuries, particularly falls, can lead to injury and accompanying pain. Whiplash injuries from automobile accidents, which occur when the head and neck are jerked quickly, can also result in neck pain. And, even poor posture or standing in a stooped position can cause chronic pain over time.

Chiropractic Care for Chronic Pain

At Natural Care Chiropractic, our Lindenhurst chiropractor ascribes to a total wellness approach to pain management. He employs traditional chiropractic techniques, such as gentle spinal decompression, to help realign bones and ease pain from whiplash, slipped discs and other injuries. He augments this treatment with a host of other methods and techniques, including massage therapy; nutritional advice to make sure that you are eating the foods that will help you help quickly; lifestyle advice about such things as improving your posture, choosing the proper desk chair and/or wearing shoes that will minimize your pain. We will also teach you corrective exercises that you can do every day at home to strengthen the muscles that support your neck and shoulders. You don't have to live with pain.

Treatment for Sciatica with Lindenhurst Chiropractic Care

Posted on 2011-12-13 11:03:06

Lindenhurst chiropractor helps with sciatica.jpgAt Natural Care Chiropractic, a Lindenhurst chiropractic clinic serving the Wadsworth, Antioch, and Gurnee areas of Illinois, our chiropractor treats patients suffering from sciatica, a condition associated with pain in the lower back and leg area. The pain is a result of pinching in the sciatic nerve, which runs down the spine and the legs. Treatment options for sciatica include physical therapy and chiropractic adjustments, as well as massage therapy.

Sciatica Explained

Sciatica is not a specific condition. The term is used to describe the pain a patient feels in the sciatic nerve. Sciatica may occur as a result of another condition, such as a bulging or herniated disc in the spine. Spinal stenosis, or narrowing of the spine, can also cause sciatica, as can a traumatic injury and piriformis syndrome, which occurs when the piriformis muscle becomes too tight or spasms. Sitting for long periods of time or suffering an injury can cause piriformis syndrome.

Typically, patients with sciatica feel pain in their low back, buttocks and backs of their legs. Some patients experience numbness or tingling as well as weakness in the muscles. In very rare, emergency cases, patients may lose the ability to control their bladder or bowels.

Massage and Physical Therapy for Sciatica

Common treatment options for sciatica include physical therapy and massage therapy. Deep tissue massage, offered at our clinic, helps the piriformis muscle relax. Physical therapies used to treat sciatica include stretches and exercises that help the muscles in the back become stronger. Exercises can also help improve your posture. Chiropractor Dr. Mark Freund will teach patients the exercises necessary to help them heal. Patients can do the exercises in the comfort of their own homes. Other treatment options for sciatica include spinal adjustment, which helps restore a patient's range of motion and eases pain in the sciatic nerve.

Lindenhurst Chiropractor Focuses on Pain Management

Posted on 2011-11-07 07:58:29

Lindenhurst chiropractor aids in pain management.jpgAll medical practitioners talk about successful pain management with reverence and commitment. However, one Lindenhurst chiropractor, Dr. Mark Freund, has been liberating his patients from back, joint and neck pain since 1996. Our clinic serves our neighbors in Lindenhurst, Gurnee, Wadsworth and Antioch, who seek pain relief and a better quality of life.

Our Clinic Addresses the Causes of Back Pain

You should know that your spine is the vortex of your central nervous system. Considering the volume of nerves branching out from your spine, you can understand why pressure or other issues in this area can also cause pain in joints, extremities and, even, serious headaches.

Common causes of back, neck and joint pain include work, sports or auto injury, congenital conditions, arthritis, disease, or spinal misalignment, from poor posture, repetitive motion and possibly, bulging or ruptured discs. While injury or damaged discs are rather graphic causes of spinal pain, these other common sources are a bit more frustrating to accept.

For example, many of our patients report back, neck or joint pain that we determine was caused by the physical and mental stress of long commutes to and from work. As your spine becomes misaligned, you might suffer serious pain without an obvious traumatic event.

Fortunately, skilled chiropractic techniques can bring you fast and long-lasting relief. Our clinic will achieve these results without risky surgery, prescribed drugs or any other invasive procedures. Often, we recommend massage therapy for you, which is a wonderful, comfortable and enjoyable treatment to relieve pain.

We often eliminate your back, neck or joint pain using a combination of spinal realignment and massage therapy. The massage component relieves pressure-caused pain, while relaxing muscles and stimulating circulation. We then follow up with gentle hands-on manipulations that carefully restore spinal alignment.

If you suffer back, neck or joint pain, consider Natural Care Chiropractic. We can relieve your pain. Have you tried other medical or natural remedies that have not yet helped you? Do you think you might benefit from our treatment plan?

Physical Therapy at Lindenhurst’s Natural Care Chiropractic

Posted on 2011-10-14 10:53:22

ILindenhurst physical therapy.jpgf an injury has left you in pain, or if you experience pain on a regular basis due to lifestyle activities, physical therapy from our Lindenhurst chiropractic clinic may be what you need for pain management. Physical therapy can effectively treat back pain, neck pain and help you recover more fully from an injury. Our chiropractor at Natural Care Chiropractic will examine the source of your discomfort and pain and develop exercises that will help you regain your range of motion and will help you move more freely.

Physical Therapy Benefits

Undergoing physical therapy will help you improve flexibility, which can prevent future injury. The exercises performed during therapy will also build strength in your muscles and can help you improve your endurance, all of which puts you back on the path toward full health. Since the therapy improves the condition of your body, it is a way to manage pain without having to take medication.

Physical Therapy Exercises

Exercises are a key part of a physical therapy program. Our website has videos you can access which demonstrate the exercises that may help you recover and live life more fully. Our chiropractor, Dr. Mark Freund, can also assist you in the exercises during an office visit. Physical therapy exercises target the abdominal area as well as the back and chest to help you recover. Another common exercise involves using heat and cold to treat pain.

Additional Therapies

At our Lindenhurst clinic, we offer massage therapy and other treatments in addition to physical therapy. We believe that the combination of therapies helps patients heal more quickly and stay pain-free for longer periods of time. The massage therapy we commonly use involves applying pressure to an area of the body to help release pain and reduce swelling in the area. Paired with physical therapy and spinal adjustments, it is particularly effective.
